On a damaged / leaking refrigerant circuit,
sparks may ignite escaping refrigerant. Fire
hazard.
▪ Use a damp cloth or sponge to remove
condensation water.
▪ Do not use dry cloths or sponges to dry the
appliance.
▪ Do not operate any electrical devices (e.g.
wet vacuum cleaners) inside the cooling
compartment that do not correspond to the
design recommended by the manufacturer.
Appliances with explosion protection mark-

12.1 Defrosting
Responsibility
Operating companies
Operating personnel
The appliance does not have an automatic defrosting
NOTE
Material and property damage from ice for-
mation on the cooling surfaces.
▪ The operating company must defrost the appliance
completely at regular intervals (complete defrost-
ing).
For hygienic reasons, complete defrosting must be
carried out (see →Complete defrosting).

12.1.1 Complete defrosting

We recommend combining the complete defrosting
with the basic cleaning.
Defrosting interval
For hygienic reasons, at least every six months
If ice forms on the cooling surfaces
Carrying out a complete defrosting
Carrying out a complete defrosting is equivalent to the
cleaning steps with the cooling function switched off.
(see page 16, chapter 12.2.1).

12.2 Cleaning

Reasons for regular and thorough cleaning (basic
cleaning):
Ensuring the necessary hygiene. Always keep the
goods area in a clean condition.
Lowest possible energy consumption.
Maintaining trouble-free operation.
Extension of the service life of the appliance.
WARNING
Damage to the electrical system and
refrigerant circuit due to the use of
steam and high-pressure cleaners.
Contact with live parts may result in electric
shock.
Flammable refrigerant can escape and cause
an explosive gas/air mixture. Fire hazard due
to sparking or overload.
▪ Do not use any steam or high-pressure
cleaners.
CAUTION
Material breakage.
Falling hazard. Cuts.
▪ Do not climb onto or into the appliance.
▪ Do not apply any load to the lid.
For safety when handling glass, see →Mechanical
hazards
Use protective gloves when cleaning.
