With the Kenmore
2/3/4D,
a whole new world of decorative
sewing
opens up.
Try using the following
method to create a braid effect across
the front of a blouse
or around
the bottom
of a skirt.
Use ornamental threads, yarns or ribbons in the upper
looper.
Regular overlock thread, a fine sewing thread or
transparent
thread can be used in the needle and lower
looper.
Set the machine as follows:
Number of threads:
2
Number of needles:
1
(Remove the needle on the right.)
Differential feed ratio:
1.0
Stitch length:
3
Left needle thread tension (Yellow):
0 to 2
Lower looper thread tension (Green):
3 to 4
Lower looper pre-tension
setting slider:
STD
Needle plate setting knob:
S
Attach the spreader on the upper looper and set the
changeable thread guide to the lower position for a 2-thread
seam,
Disengage upper knife (refer to page 60).
_1, Fold your fabric with wrong side together.
_9 Right side
4!, Serge the folded edge while guiding it along the left side
edge of lower knife (without trimming).
Gently open the fabric and press.
