5. Proper Use

The Brill brillencio is designed for
mowing lawns and areas of grass
in private domestic gardens and
allotments and is not intended for
commercial use, for operation in
public facilities, parks, sports
grounds, alongside roads or for
agriculture and forestry.

6.1. Checking all the Parts are

7. Putting Your Lawnmower into Operation
Always carry out a visual inspec-
tion before using your lawnmower
to ensure that cutting tool, retaining
bolts and entire cutting unit are not
worn or damaged. Worn or dam-
aged cutting tools must always be
replaced to ensure that your lawn-
mower is not out of balance (see
Maintenance, Care and Storage).
Only mow your lawn in daylight
or when your lawn is lit by ample
artificial lighting. Avoid using
your lawnmower on wet grass if
possible. Always ensure you have
a sturdy stance when working on
slopes and inclines. Push the lawn-
mower at walking pace. Take
particular care when turning
the lawnmower or pulling it
towards you.
Always stop the cutting tool before
tipping your lawnmower to move it
over a surface other than grass and

operating instructions provided by
Brill to ensure that you use your
lawnmower correctly. The operating
instructions contain important
information about operating,
maintaining and repairing your
lawnmower.

6.2. Fitting the Guide Handle

The Brill brillencio is supplied pre-
assembled. Remove your lawn-
mower from the box, unfold the
z-shape folding guide handle
and tighten the clamping grip
(Figure C). The folding handle
catch engages automatically as
soon as you move the handle to the
working position.

crankcase. You must therefore fill
the crankcase of the motor up to
the upper marking of the dipstick
with motor oil 10 W 30 before
using your lawnmower for the first
time. The quantity of oil for the
trimming bushes, hedges or shrubs,
for cutting or shredding climbing
plants or creepers, for mowing roof
vegetation or plants in balcony
planters due to the risk of personal
injury. Moreover, this lawnmower
must not be used as a shredder for
shredding tree and hedge cuttings
or for levelling uneven ground.
Warning! Make sure

Lift the multi-function box slightly
and unfold the catch on the
left and right so that the multi-
function box is opened auto-
matically when it is tipped
forwards (Figure D Pos. 14).
6.3. Mounting the power pack
refer to Start-up 7.3.1.
Briggs & Stratton motor is approx.
0.6 litres and approx. 0.55 litres
for the Honda motor.
Check the oil level in the motor
each time before mowing your
lawn. To do this, position the lawn-
mower so that it is horizontal and
remove the dipstick. The oil level on
the dipstick must be between the
Min (ADD) and Max (Full) markings.
We recommend fuelling your lawn-
mower with two-star petrol.
Warning! Petrol is extremely
A
flammable. Only store
petrol in containers intended for this
purpose. Only pour petrol into the
tank when outdoors and do not
smoke while filling the tank.
Fill the tank before starting the
motor. Do not open the fuel cap or
pour in petrol when the motor is
running or when the lawnmower is
