tank, do not attempt to start the
motor. Instead, move the lawn-

you spilt the petrol. Do not attempt
to start the motor until the petrol
vapours have evaporated.
If you need to empty the fuel tank,
this must be done outdoors. For
safety reasons, always install a
new fuel cap and other tank caps if
they are damaged.
To prevent injury due to burns keep
the motor/exhaust and the area
around the fuel tank free of grass,
leaves and escaping grease (oil).
Keep your hands and feet away
from the internal housing and grass
ejection chute when the motor is
running.
Always wear sturdy work shoes
and long trousers when mowing.
Never mow your lawn when bare-
foot or when wearing only light-
weight sandals.
7.1. Attaching the Starter Cable

Press the safety handle (Figure A
Pos. 5) to release the motor brake.
Pull out the starter handle at the
motor and attach the starter cable
in the bracket on the frame from
below.

7.2. Setting the Cutting Height

You can adjust the cutting height
using the central adjusting bolt
(Figure F, Pos. 4). The cutting height
is infinitely variable. The adjusted
cutting height is shown in 5 mm
intervals on the digital display.
Warning! Only adjust the
A
cutting height when the
motor is switched off. When adjust-
ing the cutting height ensure that
the cutting blades do not touch
the ground when mowing if the
terrain is uneven.
7.3. Starting the Motor with the
Starter Cable
Start or operate the starter
switch with care according to the
manufacturer's instructions.

Ensure that your feet are far enough
away from the cutting tool.
Stand your lawnmower on an even
surface.
Check the terrain where you will be
using your lawnmower and remove
all obstacles and objects, which
could get caught and then ejected.
Briggs & Stratton Motor:
If the motor is cold, press the
.
primer (Figure G, Pos. 7) a few
times before starting the motor.
You do not need to press the prim-
er if the motor is already warm.
Press down the safety handle
.
(Figure A, Pos. 5) towards
the guide handle while simulta-
neously pulling the starter cable.
Honda Motor
If the motor is cold, move the
.
choke lever on the motor to the
"Choke" position. The choke is
not required if the motor is warm
(Figure G, Pos. 8).
Press down the safety handle

towards the guide handle while
simultaneously pulling the
starter cable. The choke lever
returns to its starting position
as soon as you move the safety
handle (Figure A, Pos. 5).
If a foreign object blocks the cutting
tool or if the motor is overloaded,
release the safety handle and the
motor will switch off automatically.
Remove the foreign object if neces-
sary.
Warning! Do not tilt the

lawnmower when starting
the motor. If you do need to tilt the
lawnmower for some reason while
mowing, only tilt the lawnmower
as far as necessary and always
tilt it with the cutting tool away
from you. Do not start the motor
when you are in front of the
grass ejection chute.
Warning! Do not leave
A
the motor running
indoors. Danger of poisoning
due a build-up of dangerous
to carbon monoxide gas!
Keep your hands and feet away
from rotating parts. Keep away
from the grass ejection chute.
7.3.1. Charging the Brill power
pack A12(e)
For technical reasons, the Brill
power pack A12(e) is not charged.
Prior to first start-up you have to
charge Brill power pack A12(e).
Only use the Brill charger LG12
Art.61619. Plug the Brill charger
LG12 into the wall outlet and the
plug-in connector (fig. P Pos. 4) into
the charging port (fig. O Pos. 1)
on the Brill Power pack A12(e).
The charging sequence is started.
Make sure that the mains voltage
is correct.
Charging time: ca. 24 hours for first
charge, then 12 to 24 hrs depend-
ing on the discharge condition.
The Brill Power Pack 12V will reach
full power after several (abt. 5)
charge / discharge operations
only.
The Brill Power Pack A12(e)
A
is only to be charged
with the with Brill charger LG12
Art. 61619 since optimum technical
adaptation is ensured between
power pack and charger.
The use of any other chargers could
lead to personal injury.
The use of chargers from
A
other suppliers makes void
all liability claims and warranty
cover from the manufacturer.
Charge the power pack

prior to first start-up for
a full 24 hours please.
During charging, the mains

plug and the power pack
will slightly warm up.
Only use the charger in dry
