2. SAFETY
Read this data sheet carefully before installing and starting up. Pay
special attention to the points concerning the safety of the
equipment for the intermediate or end user.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
2.1 Symbols used in the manual
Potential hazard for safety of personnel.
Instructions on electrical risks.
Instructions indicated in this way must be
ATTENTION !
complied with in order to avoid the risk of
damaging the equipment and adversely affecting its operation.

3. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

When taking delivery of the equipment, check that it has not been
damaged in transit. If anything is found wrong, take the necessary
steps with the carrier within the allowed time.
If the equipment delivered is to be installed at a
ATTENTION !
later time, store it in a dry place and protect it
from impacts and outside hazards (moisture, frost, etc.).
Handle the pump carefully so as not to alter the geometry or
alignment of the hydraulic assembly.
Never hang the pump with the electric cable.

5. INSTALLATION
Two standard cases:
• FIG. 1: Pump in suction
• FIG. 4: Pump under pressure from storage tank (item 9) or town
water supply (item 10), with dry-running protection system.
5.1 Installation
Install the pump in a place that is easy to reach, protected from
frost, and as close as possible to the place from which water is
drawn.
Mount the pump on a concrete block or directly on a smooth and
horizontal floor.
Horizontality defect allowed ± 5° maximum.
Fixing of the pump with help of 2 slots on the support bearing (screw
Ø M8).
Bear in mind that the altitude of the place of

installation and the water temperature may
reduce the suction head of the pump.

5.2 Hydraulic connections
By flexible hose with a reinforcement or rigid screw.
The diameter of the suction piping must never be less than that of
the pump. Further more, for the 4 m3/h serie pumps with a suction
head (HA) over à 6 m, the internal diameter of the suction pipe has
to be at least of Ø 28 mm.
Limit the length of the suction pipe and avoid all features that cause
losses of head (tapers, bends, etc.).
No air input is allowed in the suction pipe.
With rigid pipes, use supports with collars so that the pump does not
bear the weight of the pipes.
The setting up of a strainer (cross section 1 mm maximum) avoids
any damage of the pump by suction of stones and foreign particles.
If the pump is in suction : immerse the strainer (at least 200 mm
deep). If necessary ballast the flexible pipe.
Nominal diameter of the suction / delivery ports (tapped) :
1" (26-34).
Carrefully seal the pipes with adequate products.
The mounting of a dry-running protection device avoids any dry-
running of the pump.
