Operation

Disinfect or autoclave contaminated surfaces of the
curing light, light probe and anti-glare cone before each
use. Furthermore, make sure that the light output permits
adequate polymerization. For this purpose, check the
light probe for dirt or damage and use the integrated
light meter to test the light output.
Switching the handpiece on and off (stand-by mode)
If the handpiece is not used for approximately 4 minutes,
it changes to the energy-saving stand-by mode and auto-
matically switches off. Renewed pressing of the start but-
ton results in the stand-by mode being switched off and
the handpiece switched on again. At the same time, the
display is activated.

Selecting the curing program

The desired curing program is selected with the program selection buttons. The display changes accordingly
(see Indicators on the handpiece).
bluephase C8 is equipped with the following 3 curing programs to match the requirements of different indications:

Settings

The curing program and curing time can be individually
set. On initial start-up, the device will operate with the
following presets :
– HIP curing program (High Power)
– Curing time: 20 seconds
For the other curing programs, the following curing times
have been preset:
– LOP (Low Power): 10 seconds
– SOF (Soft start): 30 seconds
Stipulated curing time
of selected materials
10 seconds:
– Adamant
– Indirect restorations with dual cure cement
– Per segment: occlusal, mesial, distal
– Indirect restorations with the light cure cements
Variolink II and Variolink Veneer
– Per segment: occlusal, mesial, distal
– Per millimeter thickness of restoration
i.e) 2 mm thick restoration, base only
(10 seconds x 2) = 20 seconds per segment
20 seconds:
– Generelly for composites such as
Tetric EvoCeram, Tetric EvoFlow, Tetric N-Ceram, Heliomolar
40 seconds:
– Compoglass F | Flow
10 seconds:
– AdheSE | One
– Excite | DSC
20 seconds:
– Syntac
– Heliobond
30 seconds:
– Generelly for composites such as
Tetric EvoCeram, Tetric EvoFlow, Tetric N-Ceram, Heliomolar
