Game 6
Front
Ready, steady, go!
A funny pixie race
Players: 2 – 4
Material: Board, 12 pixies, 12 hats, dice
Duration: approx. 10-20 mins.
The aim of the game is to find the right hat for each 'running' pixie and help them
reach the end first.
Preparation
First, choose your pixie running teams: Each player takes it in turns to choose a pixie
and puts it in front of them, until all players have a full team of three pixies each.
Put the remaining pixies back in the box. Place the board in the middle of the table.
Put all 12 hats on the 'grassy surfaces' in the middle of the board, mix them up and
place them on the squares. Check you have the dice.
How to play
The first player starts. They pick up their first pixie and place it on the start square
(the pixie picture). They roll the dice and move the pixie the same number of squares.
What does the square say?
No action!
The player can roll again, move, and carry out the action on the new
square.
(= Start square) The start is free for the next pixie! The player takes
the 'old' pixie out of the game and swaps it for a pixie from their
team, placing it on the start square. The 'old' pixie is just resting, and
stands in front of the player until it is used again. However, when the
last team pixie lands on this square because the two others have
both found their hats, nothing happens.
The player can pick up a hat and feel the hidden surface, without
looking at it or showing it to the other players. The player can
compare it with the surfaces of their own 3 pixies.
The player can pick up and feel 2 hats in succession (as above).
