Main broom check and cleaning

NOTE
Brooms with harder or softer bristles are available. The following procedures are applicable to all types of brooms.
WARNING!
It is advisable to wear protective gloves when servicing the main broom because there can be sharp debris
between the bristles.

Engage the parking brake.
3.
Turn the ignition key (57) and start the machine.
4.
Lower the main broom with the lever (53).
5.
Turn the ignition key (57) to "O" to stop the machine.
6.
Open the right panel (18).
7.
Move aside the right side skirt (A, Fig. 3) and fasten it with the pin (B).
8.
Open the idler arm assembly (C) to access the main broom (D).
NOTE
The idler arm is held in place by the right side access panel (18).
9.
Pull the main broom (D) out of its housing and remove any string or wire wrapped around it and its hubs.
Replace the broom when the bristles are worn to a length of 2 in (5 cm).
10. Install the main broom (D) back into its housing. Make sure that the slots on the main broom core (D) engage the pins (E) in
the main broom drive hub (F) and that the main broom is fully seated.
11. Close and swing the idler arm assembly (C) back into the main broom core.
NOTE
Make sure the lugs on the idler arm engage the slots (G) (right side) of the main broom core.
12. Place the right side skirt back to its position and close the right panel (18) until the lock lever engages.
Drive the machine on a level floor.
