4.2 Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
The machine does not start (All the LEDs of the
keys are off).
The compressor functions intermittently from the
first batch freezing phases.
The batch freezing times lengthen and/or the ice
-cream appears wet.
The product is too soft.
The product is too hard.
The machine becomes noisy during batch
freezing.
Pressing the CN key does not change the status
of one or more freezing cylinders.

CAUSE
Master switch open.
Incorrect power supply.
Electrical anomaly.
Air-cooled machines: air condenser dirty or fan
faulty.
Water-cooled machines: no condensation water.
Slight condensation.
High room temperature.
High liquid mixture temperature.
Worn scrapers.
Refrigeration system anomaly.
Unbalanced mixture or incorrect amount introdu-
ced.
The selected working program is incorrect.
The selected working program is incorrect..
Presence of ice on the cylinder wall.

SOLUTION
Close the switch.
Check power supply.
Contact the technician
Clean the condenser with a brush and make sure the
fan works properly.
Make sure there is water in the water system to
which the machine is connected. Check the cocks.
Check the commissioning conditions Chap.II/3
Check that the room temperature does not exceed
32°C (90°F).
Maximum machine production is obtained with a
liquid mixture at 4°C (39°F). Using mixtures at higher
temperatures means that batch freezing times are
lengthened: this is normal and does not constitute an
anomaly.
Check wear and replace them if necessary.
Contact the technician
Check that the amount of mixture introduced is cor-
rect and that it is properly balanced.
Select a program higher number.
Select a program lower number.
Check the wear of the scraper.
Make sure the mix is properly balanced.
Check that the beater rotates counterclockwise.
Otherwise, turn off the machine and contact your
service technician
Ensure that the amount present in the cylinder is not
lower than the minimum allowed.
Synchronization procedure:
- activate the machine
- identify non-synchronized freezing cylinders
(remained in production mode after pressing the CN
key or in CN mode after pressing the PRODUCTION/
OK key on each keyboard)
- press the STOP key on all the pushbutton panels.
- for each non-synchronized display, proceed as
follows: press and hold the STOP key. While holding
down the STOP key, press the CN key at the same
time. Subsequently, first release the CN key and then
release the STOP key.
Warning: scrupulously follow the indicated order of
pressing and releasing the keys.
The sections are resynchronized.
