1. Place the batteries in the front right corner of the HSB
enclosure. Features on the floor of the enclosure locate
batteries. If replacing existing batteries, disconnect wiring
and remove old batteries.
2. Install positive cable first.
3. Install the battery series cable from the positive (+) terminal
of one battery to the negative (–) terminal of the other
battery. Always connect the positive (+) battery cable to the
generator (starter) first.

4. Dielectric grease should be applied on the battery
connections to aid in the prevention of corrosion.
5. Install both battery post covers.
6. Inspect, clean or re-grease battery connections every two
months.

Two (2) 12-volt Group 26 batteries with maximum overall
dimension (L x W x H) 8 3/16 x 6 13/16 x 7 3/4 inches / 208 x 173
x 197 mm with an Automotive (A) post or terminal configuration.
Purchase batteries locally.
The recommended battery type for typical use is 540 CCA (Cold
Cranking Amps). However, a 525 CCA battery shown in the
"Recommended Battery Type" chart may be used for typical use,
if in regularly warmer climates.
Alternatively, you may also use two (2) 12-volt Group 26R, but
both batteries must be 26R.
