Troubleshooting/Maintenance
Troubleshooting Protection Modes
The Inverter may shut down and cease supplying AC power under
certain conditions in order to protect the unit, the battery and the
connected equipment.
The LED automatically illuminates green when the Inverter is plugged
into a 12V DC power source and turned on. If conditions cause the
Inverter's Fault LED to illuminate red, its alarm to sound or the inverter
automatically turns itself off, follow these instructions to restore the
unit to normal operation:
Condition
Explanation
When the power input from
Low-Voltage
Alarm and
the vehicle's battery drops
Low-Voltage
to approximately 10.5V +/-
Cutoff
0.3V DC, the low-voltage
alarm will sound. When the
voltage goes below 9.5V
+/- 0.3V DC, the inverter
shuts off.
Overvoltage
When the power input from
Alarm and
the vehicle's battery exceeds
Shutdown
16V+/-0.3V DC, high-
voltage overload protection
occurs and shuts down the
inverter.
Loads up to 100% run
Overload
continuously; 101%-125%
for 1 minute; 120-200% for
0.5 seconds.
If the load demand from the
equipment or device being
operated exceeds the time
intervals listed, the inverter
will sound an alarm and shut
down the inverter output.
Solution
Start the vehicle to recharge
the battery. When the voltage
is above 12V+/-0.3V, the
Inverter will automatically
resume operation.
When the voltage drops below
14V+/-0.3V DC, the Inverter
will automatically resume
operation.
Reduce the load and restart
the inverter by power cycling
the ON/OFF switch on the
unit or remote (if equipped).
Alternatively, reduce the load
and wait 4-6 minutes. The
inverter will auto-recover and
resume operation.
