4.2
Intended Use
The STIHL SPA 130.0 and SPA 140.0 harvest‐
ers are designed to harvest olives, nuts and
other fruit.
The harvester may be used in the rain.
Power to this harvester is supplied by a STIHL
AP battery in combination with the "AP belt bag
with connecting cable" or a STIHL AR L battery.
WARNING
■ Batteries not approved by STIHL for the har‐
vester may cause fires or explosions. Persons
may be seriously or fatally injured, and prop‐
erty may be damaged.
► Use the harvester with a STIHL AP battery
in combination with the "AP belt bag with
connecting cable" or a STIHL AR L battery.
■ Using the harvester or the battery for purposes
for which they were not intended may result in
serious or fatal injuries and damage to prop‐
erty.
► Use the harvester as described in this User
Manual.
► Use the battery as described in the User
Manual for the "AP belt bag with connecting
cable" or the STIHL AR L battery.

Requirements for the user
WARNING
■ Uninstructed users cannot recognize or
assess the risks involved in using the har‐
vester. The user or other persons may sustain
serious or fatal injuries.
► Read and understand the User Man‐
ual and keep it in a safe place for
reference.

► If you hand over the special harvester to
another person: Always enclose the User
Manual.
► Make sure that the user meets the following
conditions:
– The user is rested.
– The user must be in good physical con‐
dition and mental health to operate and
work with the harvester. If the user is
able to operate the equipment but is
physically, hearing, visually or mentally
impaired, the user may only work with
the equipment under the supervision of
or after receiving instruction from a
responsible person.
– The user is able to recognize and
assess the risks involved in using the
harvester.
– The user is an adult or is being trained
in an occupation under supervision
according to national regulations.
– The user has been instructed by a
STIHL authorized dealer or other expe‐
rienced user before working with the
harvester for the first time.
– The user is not under the influence of
alcohol, medication or drugs.
► If you are unsure: Consult a STIHL author‐
ized dealer.
4.4
Clothing and equipment
WARNING
■ Long hair can be pulled into the special har‐
vester during operation. This may result in
serious injury to the user.
► Tie up and confine long hair above your
shoulders.
■ Objects can be thrown at high speed during
operation. This may result in injury to the user.
► Wear close-fitting safety glasses.
Suitable safety glasses are tested in
accordance with EN 166 or national
regulations and available commer‐
cially with the corresponding mark‐
ing.
► Wear a long-sleeved, close fitting top.
■ Falling objects can cause head injuries.
► If objects are likely to fall while work‐
ing: wear a hard hat.
■ Dust can be whipped up during operation.
Whipped up dust can damage the respiratory
passages and cause allergic reactions.
► If dust is generated: Wear a dust respirator
mask.
