4 Safety Precautions
► If you start feeling fatigue: Take a break.
■ If the moving rakes make contact with a hard
object they can be brought to a sudden stop.
The reactive forces that occur can cause the
user to lose control of the harvester and be
seriously injured.
► Hold the harvester firmly with both hands.
■ The moving rakes can seriously injure the
user.
► Do not touch the moving rakes.
■ If the properties of the harvester changes dur‐
ing operation or it feels unusual, it may no lon‐
ger be in a safe condition. This may result in
serious injury to people and damage to prop‐
erty.
► Stop work, pull the connecting cable plug
out of the socket and contact a STIHL
authorized dealer.
■ Vibrations may occur while using the har‐
vester.
► Wear gloves.
► Take breaks.
► Grip it to guarantee you can safely handle
the device.
► If signs of a circulatory disturbance occur:
Consult a doctor.
■ Note that the rakes continue to run for a short
period after you release the button. Persons
may be seriously injured.
► Wait until the rakes come to a complete
standstill.

Transport
WARNING
■ The gear housing can get hot during opera‐
tion. There is a risk of burn injuries.
► Do not touch a hot gear housing.
■ The harvester may fall over or shift during
transport. Persons may be injured, or property
may be damaged.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of
the socket.
► Secure the special harvester with lashing
straps, belts or a net to prevent it turning
over and moving.

Storage
WARNING
■ Children are not aware of and cannot assess
the dangers of the special harvester. Children
may be seriously injured.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of
the socket.
► Store the harvester out of the reach of chil‐
dren.
■ Dampness may corrode the electrical contacts
on the harvester and other metal components.
The harvester may be damaged.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of
the socket.
► Store the harvester in a clean and dry con‐
dition.
► Insert the plug in the socket.

Cleaning, Maintenance and
Repair
WARNING
■ The harvester may start unintentionally if the
connecting cable plug remains inserted during
cleaning, maintenance or repair operations.
This may result in serious injury to people and
damage to property.
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of
the socket.
■ The gear housing can get hot during opera‐
tion. There is a risk of burn injuries.
► Do not touch a hot gear housing.
■ Harsh detergents, cleaning with a water jet or
sharp objects can damage the harvester and
the rakes. If the harvester or rakes are not
cleaned correctly, components may no longer
function properly and safety devices may be
rendered inoperative. Persons may be seri‐
ously injured.
► Clean the harvester and rakes as described
in this User Manual.
■ If the harvester or rakes are not serviced cor‐
rectly, components may no longer function
properly and safety devices may be rendered
inoperative. Persons may be seriously injured
or killed.
