Troubleshooting
If the trouble you are experiencing is not listed in this table or you are unable to rectify the problem by
yourself, contact Hilti Service.

Possible cause
Battery is discharged
Battery not fully inserted.
The retaining lug on the battery is
dirty.
Measuring tool too warm or too
cold. The measuring tool switches
itself off after a short time.

Image memory full.
Image memory faulty.
Measuring tool is not detected by
the PC.
USB interface or USB cable faulty.
Button-cell battery empty.
Measuring tool faulty.
Action to be taken
▶ Change the battery or charge
the empty battery.
▶ Push the battery in until it
engages with an audible click.
▶ Clean the retaining lug and
re-insert the battery.
▶ Allow the measuring tool to
acclimatize.
▶ Then switch the measuring tool
on again.
▶ Allow the battery to acclimatize
or change the battery.
▶ Then switch the measuring tool
on again.
▶ As necessary, transfer the
images to some other data-
storage medium (e.g. PC). The
delete the images from internal
memory.
▶ Format internal memory by
deleting all the images. If the
problem persists, consult Hilti
Service.
▶ Check whether the driver on
your computer is up to date. It
might be necessary to install a
newer version of the operating
system on the computer.
▶ Use another USB cable to test
the connection.
▶ Check whether the measuring
tool can be connected to
another computer.
▶ If the problem persists, consult
Hilti Service.
▶ Change the button-cell battery.
▶ Confirm the change.
▶ Contact Hilti Service.
