5.4 INSTALLATION LOCATION
Access to the pump or technical room must be sufficiently restricted so that no person
can access it inadvertently. Safety elements must be available to prevent access by children
or people at risk. They should never remain near the pump while it is running.
The pump room must be dry. There must be a drain of sufficient size in the lowest part
of the ground to protect against flooding.
If the pump is installed in humid conditions, a ventilation system must be provided to
prevent the formation of water condensation.
If the pump is installed in very small pump rooms, air cooling for the motor may be non-
existing and an aeration system (forced ventilation) may be necessary in order not to exceed
40ºC room temperature. It is also necessary to avoid objects that can impair the proper
ventilation of the pump motor. Also, the ump should be easily accessible for inspection and
maintenance.
It is important that the space available in the technical room allows vertical disassembly of the
pump and motor and horizontal disassembly of the prefilter.
Do not start the pump while the valves are closed. This would increase the water
temperature inside the pump and cause the formation of vapor bubbles inside the pump.
5.5 Location / installation
The pump will be installed as close as posible to the pool, at a distance no greater than
5m from the Surface inlets (skimmer/overflow channel. For larger distances you must take into
account the pressure losses due to the piping system.
For operation under load, a height limit between -0.5m and 3m from the water level must
be respected. The union between the with and pump body will be made primarily with PVC
material. The diameter of the pipes will depend on the flow rates.
Take into consideration the Ø of the pipes to ensure the maximum water velocity does not
exceed 1m/s at suction and 2.5m/s at discharge. In any case the
m u s t n o t b e l e s s t h a n t h e Ø of the outlet flange.
The suction pipe must be perfectly sealed and must be installed with an upward slope
according to the direction of the water flow, (not less than 1/100), thus avoiding the formation

In all installations that the pump Works on load conditions, a shut off valve will be
placed on the suction and another on the discharge. If the suction valve is not a gate valve, it
will be mounted with the steering axis in horizontal position.
