Transport and erection

swinging.

Move loads only under proper supervision. Before you leave the workplace, first
set down the load.
Immediately on receipt check the product for damage in transport. Damaged
products must not be installed or commissioned.

4.1.
TRANSPORT
Transport should be performed by specialists for mechanical work, trained
for use of the lifting gear and means of transport employed. Experienced
in the transport of heavy and bulky items.

ü The surface finishing machine is still fully packed.
ü A suitable place for erection has been selected.

ü Forklift truck or pallet truck rated for the weight of the item of packaging.
1. Drive the forklift truck forwards so that the forks pass under the pallet until they
project beyond the far side.
2. Lift the pallet and transport it to the place of erection.

3. Put down the pallet.
4. Remove the packaging film.
5. Drive the forklift truck forwards between the rollers of the surface finishing ma-
chine until they project beyond the far side.

Take account of the centre of gravity.
6. Lift the surface finishing machine and take it off the pallet.
7. With the assistance of a second person, remove the transport trolley from the
separate package.

4.2.
AMBIENT CONDITIONS
Erect the machine only on a flat and stable surface in an enclosed and dry area.
Allow one metre from other objects or walls on all sides of the machine.
Ambient temperature between +5 °C and +40 °C, average atmospheric humidity

over a year less than 65 %, average atmospheric humidity over 60 days less than
85 %.

Erect the machine near to a fire extinguisher.
Do not erect it in explosion hazard areas or areas with a high presence of dust,
flammable gases, vapours, solvents or other materials.
Do not expose it to extreme temperatures, high voltages, vibration fields.
4.3.
ERECTION
A
1. Roll the surface finishing machine and transport trolley to the place of erection.

2. Open the noise-absorption hood and remove the restraint straps.
3. Apply the parking brakes of the surface finishing machine.

4. Position the transport trolley at the side of the surface finishing machine directly
under the separation unit.

RELOCATING TO ANOTHER PLACE OF ERECTION

After positioning it, lock the castors by applying the parking brakes.
4.4.1.
Surface finishing system
ü Transport trolley removed from the surface finishing machine.
ü Cable rolled up on the cable holder at the back.
ü All flaps and openings closed.
1. Release the parking brakes on both castors.
2. Push the surface finishing machine only using the handle.
3. Once it has been positioned, lock the castors by applying the parking brakes.
4.4.2.
Transport trolley
1. Push the transport trolley only using the handle.
2. Position it to the side of the surface finishing system directly under the separa-
tion unit.

Initial commissioning

Insert the mains plug into a mains socket. Make sure the socket is provided with a
mains fuse. 1×230 V, 50 – 60 Hz, single phase, mains fuse 10 A.
5.1.
PERFORM A TEST RUN

A test run is mandatory before first use.
ü Secure the surface finishing machine against rolling away. Apply the parking
brake to the castors to ensure this.
ü Cover at the outlet from the trough on the separation unit closed.
1. Unlock the door for access to the water tank.
2. Using a measuring beaker, measure out the required quantity of compound and
pour it into the left unit of the water tank.
3. Pour approx 45 litres water into the left unit of the water tank. The filling level can
be read on the level display.

The compound will mix with the water that was poured in.
Push the water tank into the surface finishing machine and lock the door.
4. Switch on the main switch.
5. Perform a visual check of the trough and the separation unit.
Depending on the application, select appropriate abrasive chips and fill the left hand
chamber or the entire trough. Maintain a maximum filling level 3 cm below the water
outlet.
6. Select "Manual".
7. Set Speed to 1500 rpm.
8. Press
to start the motor.
9. Test the sequence of functions listed below:
