V. SET UP & USE OF YOUR WHEELCHAIR
II. Adjusting Cross Tube and Armrest/Sideguard
Position on Frame
To Adjust Cross Tube Position on Frame:
1. Remove wheels, side guards and armrests from chair in order to allow easier access to cross
tube.
2. If your Clik has sideguards, Pediatric T-arm will have a receiver built into the cross tube
assembly (Fig. 49:C).
3. Loosen four 6mm screws on each side of cross tube clamp (Fig. 49:A). Loosen screws only
until the clamp moves freely alongside the frame without falling off.
4. Grab both sides of clamp assembly and slide in direction of desired location. It is important
that you move both sides equally. As adjustment is being made you will feel a clicking in the
system. Take care to move assembly equal distance on each side. Each click is equivalent to
½".
5. Once assembly is in desired location and has clicked into a dimple in the frame, retighten the
four 6mm screws (Fig. 49:A) on each side.
JJ. Replacing Cross Tube for Width Adjustment
To Replace Cross Tube When Growing Your Clik:
1. Remove wheels, side guards and armrests from chair in order to allow easier access to cross
tube.
2. Remove two 6mm flat head screws (Fig. 49:B) from each side of cross tube clamp assembly.
3. Slide cross tube out of clamp assembly. Set aside.
4. Grab new cross tube on each side and slide straight into clamp assembly. Note that the
assembly has a very tight fit. You may need to apply pressure from inside frame outward to
allow clearance when sliding cross tube into clamp assembly.
5. Align holes in cross tube with holes in clamp.
6. Replace two 6mm (Fig. 49:B) flat head screws on each side. Retighten screws on each side
securely.
