Root mode.

In Root mode it is possible to use MIG welding programs
with short-circuit transfer (MIG Short), whit synergic
function, purposely designed for "root" welding of de-
scent vertical "butt" welds.
This welding process is indicated on D3 in the main page
with "MIG Root" indication and by the L10 lit.
In Standard mode, Pulsed arc mode, Manual mode, HD
mode and Root mode the programs may be called up by
selecting the "program number" from the robot terminal.
7 signals are available for selection (7 bit, 6 – 0).
If a "program number" = 0 (zero) is selected from the ro-
bot terminal, the programs may be called up via the control
panel using the navigation keys T10, T11, T12 and T13.
In Job mode, if a "Job number" = 0 (zero) is selected from
robot terminal, the stored working points may be called up
via control panel using the M2 knob.
The parameters for the selected program are displayed on

the control panel.

MANAGEMENT VIA CONTROL PANEL.

Control panel operations depend on the "Robot interface"
function condition.
With the "Robot interface" function not active the control
panel maintains full management of the welding system
and functionally behaves exactly like a manual system.
With the "Robot interface" function active the system
operation switches to the robot terminal and the control
panel maintains partial operation, depending on the
selected operating mode.
NOTE
This Instruction Manual refers to the control panel art.
227.00 in robot applications.
Only operation with the "Robot interface" function active
is described below.
The "Robot interface" function condition is indicated in
the "Machine" page on D3, in the line "Robot interface"
and by the L15 status;
− L15 off
= "Robot interface" function not active
(Robot interface = OFF);
− L15 lit
= "Robot interface" function active (Ro-
bot interface = ON);
− L15 flashing = "Robot interface" function active (Ro-
bot interface = ON), in Parameter selection internal
mode set via shortcut INT / EXT (par. 3.3.4).
With the "Robot interface" function active the control pan-
el operation depends on the selected operating mode (par.
3.3).
The commands and signals based on this selection are de-
scribed below.

T1 key.
Always operative.
Each time this key is pressed, it calls up the measure you
wish to show on D1.
The selected measure is indicated by the lighting of the
corresponding led.
4.1.1

L1 led - Thickness.

In Parameter selection internal mode, D1 shows the
recommended thickness based on the set current and wire
speed.
The value may be changed using M1.
This change affects the value of the set voltage, which may
be seen on D2 with L4 lit.
In the other operating modes, D1 shows the recommended
thickness based on the current and wire speed set by the
recalled program.
