Cooling system for CCD
The camera's cooling system adopts the thermomodule
to control the temperature inside the CCD, allowing a
large reduction of thermal noise generated in the CCD,
and realization of a long-exposure shutter mode of up to
60 seconds.
Compact and lightweight camera head
system
The camera head is compact and very light, allowing
easier mounting.
Versatile use of the camera is realized by connecting the
camera head and the camera control unit simply via the
supplied camera cable, which enables you to extend the
connecting distance up to 5 meters.
Versatile shooting using the frame
memory
Frame memory of the camera control unit enables
storage of still pictures of approximately 5,000,000
effective picture elements (2560 × 1920 pixels),
providing freeze function and long term exposure
function.
Large LCD monitor
The camera control unit is equipped with a 3.5-inch low-
temperature, polysilicon TFT color LCD monitor with
CRT contrast, resolution and response speed. The LCD
monitor improves camera performance by displaying
live pictures, captured pictures in the frame memory of
the camera, menus, and still images recorded on a card.
Precise picture control functions by the
adoption of LSI digital signal processing
technology
High-performance digital signal processing enables
precise reproduction of pictures of the signal output
from the CCD. This technology realizes × 2 zoom, and
histogram and focus indicator displays.
Recording on a PC card/"Memory Stick"
The camera control unit is equipped with one slot for a
PC card compliant to PC card interface (PCMCIA ATA
TYPE II), allowing you to record the captured picture on
a commercially available PC card of Flash Memory ATA
type, a Sony "Memory Stick" with use of the card
adaptor, or a Compact Flash card.
For details on a card, contact your Sony dealer.
Video output connectors
The camera control unit is equipped with the composite
and S-video outputs, allowing monitoring live pictures
or still pictures on the connected video monitor. As the
video signals can be output in NTSC or PAL color
system by switching the select switch on the camera
control unit, the camera can be used worldwide.
IEEE1394 digital interface
When you connect the camera to your computer via the
IEEE1394 interface, live pictures or still pictures can be
converted into digital signals to transfer to the computer,
and the camera can be controlled by the computer.
TWAIN driver software supplied
The software for Windows and Macintosh to use the
IEEE1394 digital interface function is supplied, which
enables you to control the camera from your computer.
For information on the compatible operating systems,
how to install or how to use the software, refer to the
supplied User's Guide for TWAIN Driver Software.
