• Engine oil is a key factor in determining engine performance. Do not use engine oil
with admixtures or oil for 2-stroke gasoline engines, as they do not guarantee adequate
lubrication, which may shorten the life of the engine.
• Check the amount of engine oil (when not running and on a flat surface).
Recommended engine oil: SAE L5W-40
Since the viscosity differs depending on the region and temperature, select the
lubricant according to the recommendations.
Checking/refilling the oil level:
1) Ensure that the engine is stopped and is on level ground.
2) Remove and clean the dipstick.
3) Insert the dipstick into the oil filler neck and check the oil level.
4) If the oil level is too low, add the recommended engine oil up to the oil filler
neck.
5) Reinsert the dipstick.
NOTICE: Use with insufficient engine oil can seriously damage the engine.
Refueling
The engine runs on unleaded gasoline with an octane number above 86. Using
unleaded gasoline will reduce the possibility of carbon deposit formation and extend
the life of the engine. Never use used or contaminated gasoline or gasoline/engine oil
mixture. Make sure the fuel is free of dirt and water.
