8 Maxicaps MR Operating Instructions

2.1.2 Qualifications of Personnel
Persons who do not possess adequate knowledge about how to use the sys-
tem correctly may injure themselves and other persons.
If a particular qualification is required for an activity: The target group will be
specified. If no qualification is specified: The activity may be carried out by
the "Operator" target group.
2.2 Protective Equipment
The protective equipment on the system protects persons who work with
the system against the hazards and harms associated with it, e.g. overpres-
sure. If the system's protective equipment is dismounted or modified: Peo-
ple may be seriously injured.
Do not dismount, modify, or disable the protective equipment (for safety

equipment, see Chapter 3.7, page 16).
2.3 Warning Symbols on the System
Warning Symbols are important information for handling the system. Miss-
ing or illegible warning symbols may result in this information not being ob-
served. There is a risk of injury to persons.
Do not conceal, remove, or modify the symbols.

Replace the symbols if they become illegible.

2.4 Accessories
The use of unsuitable accessories can affect the functionality and opera-
tional reliability of the device and have the following consequences:
— Risk of injury to persons
— Damage, malfunctions, or failure of the system
Only use accessories that have been approved by Sartorius (see Chap-

ter 9, page 40).
2.5 Personal Protective Equipment
Personal protective equipment protects against hazards arising from the
Maxicaps MR System and the filter unit. If the personal protective equip-

ment is missing or is unsuitable for the work processes on the system: Per-
sons may be injured.
The following personal protective equipment must be worn:
— Protective work clothing
— Safety gloves
— Safety glasses
— Safety boots
