HIPPOTANK SERIES
– Make sure that the switch (12) of the electric pump (11) is in the off position "O".
– Enable the power line through the circuit breaker (§ 11.4.6)
– Unroll the hose (16) and insert the gun (17) in the destination tank, after locking the lever in the "open" position.
– Rotate the taps (10) and (14) to the "OPEN" position 3
– Start the pump by placing the switch (12) to position "I"
– Proceed with transferring within max. 2 minutes after ignition of the pump
- Check on the achievement of the desired degree of filling, or wait for the overflow shot in case of automatic gun.
After complete emptying, perform the operations described below in sequence:
-
Turn off the switch on the pump body (pos. "0").
-
Turn the knob (10) to "CLOSED" position (Note 3)
-
Empty liquid still pressing down on gun (17), in order to discharge any residual pressure in the discharge pipe.
-
Turn the knob (14) to "CLOSED" position (Note 3).
-
Replace the hose (16), correctly rolled up within the metal cabinet, hanging the gun (17) to the holder.
-
Disconnect the power line through the circuit breaker.
12.4. PRECAUTIONS
Each type of operation should be avoided/suspended in stormy weather in place or imminent.
The employer is responsible to prepare appropriate risk assessment in this regard pursuant to art. 29 of Legislative Decree 81/08. It is
considered useful to provide in each case the following minimum safety information:
– Each object with an elevation predominant compared with the surrounding area has a greater chance of being struck by lightning; so
it must be considered at risk the use of the "machine" near or under the shelter of trees, towers or pylons, and, when placed above the
vehicle floor, the container can represent itself the subject of predominant elevation related to the surrounding area.
– Not necessarily the risk of electrocution derives from the fact that the container is direct target of lightning. The mere proximity to an
exposed structure constitutes danger since the current of the lightning, after hitting its target, is dispersed in the soil, so if you are in
proximity to the hit structure and you are in contact with the ground you may come in contact with the leakage current and be damaged.
– In case of lightning that hit a container with flammable liquid, in addition to the direct physical damage (even death), there is a real risk
of fire in the container.
During transport the supply line must NEVER be live, but disabled by the appropriate circuit breaker (off battery)
It is absolutely forbidden to replace the removable bipolar connection with a permanent connection to the vehicle battery.
It is also forbidden to set up flying connections to the vehicle battery, sparkles that may arise, as well as the source of
danger in relation to the presence of flammable vapours, can also cause serious damage to the electronic components of
the vehicle. For the same reason, never make connections and disconnections of the power outlet under tension.
12.5. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
In addition to those already given in several previous chapters, we draw the user' attention to the following important requirements, where
non-compliance may result in extremely serious consequences:
DO NOT USE IN LOCATIONS WHERE THE RISK OF CREATION OF EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERE CAN ARISE
(EN 60079-10). (In the case of tank with ATEX marking follow the marking).
KEEP ALWAYS IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE AT LEAST ONE 2 KG EXTINGUISHER OF POWDER ABC OR
EQUIVALENT.
IN CASE OF PRINCIPLE OF FIRE, IMMEDIATELY ISOLATE THE TANK CLOSING THE SHT-OFF VALVE ON
INTAKE.
NO OPEN FLAME AND/OR SMOKING, INCLUDING ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES.
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO USE ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICE DURING EMPTYING OR FILLING (E.G. MOBILE
PHONES, MUSIC PLAYERS, ETC. ETC.)
Each GIR/IBC has an adhesive plate with the main instructions for use (in the HIPPOTANK
equipment containment cabinet door).
