Type-C charging
You can use Type-C to charge the radio battery:
(1) Insert the adapter into the AC socket, then connect the Type-C cable to the adapter and the Type-C charging port of the battery (open the
protective cover).
(2) Ensure that the Type-C port of the battery is in good contact with the charging terminal of the cable. The charging indicator light of the battery
turns red and starts charging.
(3) It takes approximately 2-5 hours to fully charge the battery. The charging indicator light turns green - charging is complete.
When the charging indicator light of the battery goes off, it indicates that the charging is complete. Remove the cable from the Type-C port of the
battery and cover it with a protective cover.
Baofeng recommends your radio is turned off while being charged.
General Radio Operation
Turning On the Radio
(1) Rotate the [Power On/Off/Volume] Control Knob clockwise until you hear a click.
• If the power-up test is successful, you see a splash screen on the radio display, followed by the Home screen.
(2) To turn off the radio, rotate the [Power On/Off/Volume] Control Knob counterclockwise until you hear a click.
Adjusting the Volume
Ensure the radio is power on and the speaker is pointed towards you for increased loudness and intelligibility, especially in areas with loud
background noises.
(1) To increase the volume, rotate the [Power On/Off/Volume] Control Knob clockwise.
(2) To decrease the volume, rotate this knob counterclockwise.
VFO/Channel Switch
Press the [VFO/MR] key to switch between VFO and channel display.
(1) Turn the radio to Channel mode, the screen will display the current channel number;
(2) Turn the radio to VFO mode,, the screen will display the VFO icon.
