Panel Mount Display Wiring

The display harness of the IND331 panel mount terminal can be extended for remote mounting of
the rear housing. An optional Front Panel Display Kit can be added to the IND131 DIN unit to
provide the larger panel-mounted display. The cable length between the operator interface and the
rear housing can be as much as 22m (50 ft).
To install a longer length of cable, connect it as indicated in Table 2-8. Use a shielded, four
conductor cable in which each conductor is a minimum of 0.3 mm2 (22 GA). To prevent electrical
interference on cables longer than 2m (6 ft), the shield should be grounded to one of the studs on
the back of the operator interface. The extended cable can be connected to either the J5 connector
on the Main PCB or the COM1 serial port (if programmed for Front Panel assignment).

Note: Special protection is required for incendive wiring connections to the IND131xx and
IND331xx terminals when installed inside Division 2 or Zone 2/22 hazardous areas. Refer
to the Division 2 and Zone 2/22 Installation Manual 64068795 on the Resource CD for
more details.
