4.1.1.- Funcionamiento.
El SAI dispone de dos modos de funcionamiento:
- Desde la RED, con la red presente, la carga se alimenta
de la tensión principal, la cual es filtrada y rectificada por
el SAI. La batería está en reposo y constantemente
cargada. Esta es la condición de funcionamiento normal.
- Desde la BATERÍA, en ausencia de la red, la batería
suministra la energía necesaria para alimentar las car-
gas, garantizando su alimentación.
En caso de fallo de red, la conmutación RED/BATERÍA es
automática e instantánea. De la misma manera, cuando
la red es restaurada el equipo vuelve a la condición
normal de funcionamiento.
4.1.2.- Línea de bypass (reserva) (Bypass automático).
Cuando el SAI detecta una condición anormal (ej.: avería de
la batería, o fallo interno, o sobretemperatura), el circuito de
Bypass (reserva) interviene automáticamente conectando
una línea de bypass (reserva) para alimentar la carga
durante todo el tiempo necesario de intervención del Bypass
automático.
Cuando la causa de la transferencia cesa, el bypass automático
se desactiva y la carga pasa a ser de nuevo alimentada por el SAI.
El funcionamiento del Bypass automático está señalizado
por un indicador en el panel frontal.
4.1.3.- Bypass manual.
El Bypass manual se utiliza en aquellas circunstancias en
que el SAI deba ser desconectado sin influir en la alimen-
tación de las cargas (ej.: UPS no funciona, avería, ...). Este
circuito puede ser activado mediante el interruptor, situado
en la parte frontal, de BYPASS MANUAL. El citado interruptor
dispone de un enclavamiento mecánico para impedir ma-
niobras accidentales. Dicha protección puede ser bloqueda
mediante un candado para evitar su activación por personal
no autorizado.
4.2.- El panel frontal.
El funcionamiento completo del equipo viene gestionado
mediante el panel frontal del SAI.
Los controles disponibles son muy simples y ante la presen-
cia de un estado de alarma, el SAI lo señaliza mediante la
activación de una alarma acústica, el encendido del indica-
dor rojo de alarma general y su impresión en el display LCD.
4.1.1.- Operation.
The dual operating modes of UPS are:
- From MAINS, with mains present, the load is kept
powered by the mains voltage which is filtered and
rectified by UPS; the battery is idle and constantly
charged. This is the regular operating condition.
- From BATTERY, with no mains voltage present, the
battery yields the power required to supply the load.
In this manner power is guaranteed to the connected
load even with no mains present.
The switching over from MAINS to BATTERY is automatic
and immediately following mains failure. Likewise, when
mains is restored the equipment reverts to the regular
operating condition.
4.1.2.- Automatic Bypass.
When UPS detects faulty conditions (e.g., battery or circuitry
failure, or excessive temperature), an automatic switching
circuit will automatically intervene to bypass over to a
transient path. On this path the mains will continue powering
as long as the automatic switching circuit intervenes.
When the cause for switching clears, the automatic switch-
ing circuit automatically cuts off and the load is once again
powered through UPS.
The intervention of the automatic bypass switch is signalled
on the front panel through the turning on of the yellow light.
4.1.3.- Manual Bypass.
The manual bypass circuit is utilized in all those circum-
stances whereby UPS must be excluded while still keeping
the load powered (e.g., UPS not running, failure, etc.). This
circuit can be operated through the MANUAL BYPASS
switch situated on UPS front ,opening the door.
The switch is provided with a mechanical lock protecting it
against accidental operations. The mechanical lock can be
further secured with a padlock. This latter measure is used
to prevent unauthorized personnel from removing it.
4.2.- Front panel.
The assembly is fully operated through the UPS's front panel.
The commands available are very simple and if the presence
of an alarm state is signalled by the UPS through the
activation of a buzzer, the turning on of the red general alarm
light and showing on LCD the kind of alarm.
