2. Intended use
The ACCULAN sagittal saw GA 633 is used for cutting bones in ortho-
paedics/traumatology.
3. Mode of operation
In the ACCULAN sagittal saw GA 633, the electric motor is supplied
with voltage by battery. The oscillation frequency is electronically
controlled. With the trigger 8, this oscillation frequency can be con-
tinuously controlled up to 15,000
Note
The continuous regulation of the oscillation frequency necessitates
electronic components. The conditions (steam, temperature, etc.) pre-
vailing during the sterilization impose a considerable load on these
components. To avoid this load, the complete electronics of the battery
saw is integrated in the battery 4, which may not be sterilized. The bat-
tery 4 too should therefore be handled with the care usual for a surgical
instrument.
Bones are cut as a result of the to-and-fro movement of the saw blade.
The small stroke prevents damage to the soft-tissue.
No spanners are required for tensioning the saw blades.
You can turn the saw head of the sagittal saw to four different posi-
tions.
4. Danger information and warnings
WARNING
Inadvertent activation of the drive can lead to injury from the saw
blade!
Only replace the saw blades once the drive has been secured
against inadvertent activation!
Turn the catch on the trigger 8 to the OFF position. Also see
under Section 7.
CAUTION
Blunt saw blades and poorly maintained or unmaintained machines
can quickly heat up and may cause burns on skin and tissue!
CAUTION
ACCULAN sagittal saw GA 633 may only be steam-sterilized!
CAUTION
The batteries GA 616 may on no account be sterilized since heat-
ing to above 65 °C causes irreparable damage.
For notes on the use of battery GA 616, see under Section 10.
