MAINTENANCE

I
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Keep the spa covered at all times when not in use. In this way,
along with keeping the water from getting dirty, you will also avoid
heat loss and evaporation.
CAUTION:
The cover is not designed to withstand weights.
Do not stand, sit or lie on the cover, and do not set
objects on it.
If the spa is installed indoors, the amount of humidity may be
very high, even if the cover is used (when not in use). In these
situations, it is advisable to provide a ventilation system that en-
sures the best level of humidity.
The surface of the spa is brilliant, smooth, resistant and long-
lasting. With proper maintenance, care and cleaning, its char-
acteristics will remain unchanged over time. To clean the tub
and intakes, use a soft cloth and liquid neutral detergents which
must be non-abrasive and ammonia-free.
The most stubborn stains can be removed using thinners
compatible with the staining product (acetone or suitable thin-
ners). In these cases great care must be taken, drying the thin-
ner with a soft cloth immediately after removing the stain to
prevent it attacking the surface of the tub.
To restore the original brilliance of the spa, use car polish. Any
traces of nicotine left by cigarettes can also be eliminated with
cotton wool and polish.
To clean the suction nozzles, remove the cover and its o-ring
(1), using a screwdriver, unscrew the internal filter (2, present
only on the bottom drain), using a cone-shaped spanner (3),
thoroughly clean the parts and remove any residues.

NOTES
- the intakes must be cleaned with the tub empty. Remember
to refit all the parts before re-filling the spa.
-the suction intake grilles must be checked at least once a
week.
For long periods of disuse, it is advisable to completely drain
the system (refer to the chapter on emptying the tub and win-
ter shutdown). Periodic drainage, during normal use, vary de-
pending on the frequency of use, the contaminants and the
type of installation.
Even if not used particularly frequently, you are advised to re-
place the water at least once a month to ensure water quality.
The baskets of the pre-filters of the compensation tank must
be cleaned at least once a week, or even more often if the spa
is used frequently.
The pre-filter located at the inlet of the filtering pump must al-
so be checked periodically.
CAUTION:
Never clean the filters with the pumps running.
Turn the main switch off first. Always turn the mas-
ter switch off when the spa is empty.
There are no recommendations against the use of perfumes,
essence oils, Dead Sea salts, table salt, etc.
I
FILTER MAINTENANCE
To clean the quartz sand filter, you will periodically need to per-
form backwashing based on the information provided by the
gauge located on the selector valve. This means that you will
need to note the pressure indicated on the gauge during sys-
tem start-up, or at the end of a backwash period. This value
varies depending on the type of system and the length of the
pipes in the system, and is normally less than one atm. When
this value rises to 0.2 atm above the initial value, you must per-
form backwashing of the filter.
To perform backwashing, you must stop all the pumps, place the
selector valve in position (2) and then start the filtering pump.
You must also close the valve of the suction line from the com-
i
pensation tank (
1a, 1b, or 1c - detail 30) and completely
open the valve on the suction line of the spa (
- detail 30).
After a few minutes, or when the drain water is clean (this can
be seen in the transparent glass on the selector valve), refill the
tub and restore initial operating conditions (filter in position"1", ball
valves and switches in normal operating conditions).
The sand in the filter needs to be changed when good water
filtering is no longer provided. This is indicated by the need to
increase the frequency of backwashing of the filters. Deterio-
ration of the sand is mainly attributable to water hardness, but
also to certain contaminants that may cause cementing of the
filtering material.
