Applications of the non-contact
safety switches
The T4000 Compact series non-contact safety
switches are safety devices for monitoring
door/gate guarded access points so that:
potentially hazardous work on the machine can be
performed only if the safety guard is closed.
a Stop command is triggered if the safety guard is
opened when the machine is running.
Prior to the use of non-contact safety switches, a
risk assessment must be performed on the machine
in accordance with:
EN ISO 13849-1, Safety-Related Components of
Controls, Annex B,
EN ISO 14121-1, Machine Safety, Risk
Assessment.
EN ISO 12100, Machine Safety.
Prerequisites for use: ensure compliance with the
relevant requirements for installation and operation,
in particular
EN ISO 13849-1, Safety related parts of control
systems,
EN 1088, Interlocking Devices associated with
Guards,
EN 60204-1, Electrical Equipment of Machines,
EN 60947-5-3, Requirements for Proximity
Devices with Defined Behaviour under Error
Conditions.
