MANAGEMENT VIA ROBOT TERMINAL.

Robot Terminal operations depend on the status of the "Robot" function, indicated by led AT (fig. 4).
With the "Robot" function active (led AT lit) the Robot Terminal has the full operations of the Welding
System.
With the "Robot" function not active (led AT off) the Robot Terminal retains only management of the
welding command (Arc-On signal).
NOTE: This Instruction Manual refers to the Control Panel art. 208.10 in Robot applications. Therefore,
only those signals from the Robot Control, with the "Robot" function active are listed and briefly
described below.
The following signals are subordinates to the system requirements and therefore to the Robot Interface
used. Therefore in some applications some of they can be not necessary and therefore not used.
For more details on the signals from Robot Control, we recommend consulting Robot Interface
Instruction Manual.
5.1

Selections from Robot Terminal.

5.1.1
Operating Mode.
Setting the Welding System Operating Mode.
 3 signals available (3 bits, 0 - 2) with Robot Intrface RAI211;
 2 signals available (2 bits, 0 - 1) with Robot Intrface RAI217.
"program number" or "Job number".
5.1.2
Selecting a "program number" or "Job number" to call up.
 8 signals available (8 bits, 0 - 7) with Robot Intrface RAI211;
 3 signals available (3 bits, 0 - 2) with Robot Intrface RAI217.
The signals are the same for the two selections and act based on the selected Operating Mode:
in Standard Program mode, Pulsed Arc Program mode and Manual mode select a "program
number";
in Job mode they select a "Job number".
5.2

Commands from Robot Terminal.

5.2.1
Arc-On.
Start current command for the Power Source.
5.2.2
Robot Ready.
Allows welding by the Robot Control.
5.2.3
Gas Test.
Command for the gas solenoid valve, equivalent to the AQ key on Control Panel.
5.2.4
Wire Inching.
Wire feed command, equivalent to the AR key on Control Panel.
5.2.5
Wire Retract.
Command to retract the wire to align with the torch nozzle.
5.2.6
Source Error Reset.
Command to reset an error condition on the Power Source. To be effective, the cause of the error must
been previously removed.
5.2.7
Touch Sensing.
Warns the user that the wire is touching the workpiece (short-circuit between welding electrode and
workpiece).
Display O on Control Panel shows the message "tS".
Welding is not possible as long as the "Touch Sensing" signal remains active.
5.2.8
Blow Through.
Puff of compressed air for cleaning the torch nozzle.
