Malfunctions

During the usual work steps, it is possible to identify malfunctions on the TCE 4460 machine. The table below lists
possible functional anomalies that do not require intervention by specialist personnel.

To enable action to be taken quickly, it is important to inform customer service of the specifications on the rating
plate (label on the rear of the TCE 4460) and the nature of the problem.

Work on the electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic system is only ever to be performed by appropriately trained and
briefed personnel.
Faults
Mounting head
Roller of mounting head blocked.
Clamping plate/guide rails/clamping jaws
Clamping plate does not rotate in either direction.
Clamping plate turns in counter-clockwise
direction.
Clamping plate transfers insufficient torque
(powerless).
Rim not correctly held in position by guide rails.
Rim not correctly held in position by clamping jaws.
Unseating unit
The unseating unit does not have enough force to
remove the wheel.
Tilting mounting column/racing mounting column with two positions
When actuating the operating switch of the
mounting column
(2 positions), the mounting column does not move
correctly.
Pedal to operate the machine/pedal for tire inflater
When actuating the inflation pedal, the pressure
gage does not show the correct pressure.

+ The roller is either not lubricated or contaminated – clean and then
lubricate.
+ Check that the mains voltage corresponds with the voltage specified on
the rating plate.
+ Check that the mains plug is inserted correctly in the outlet.
Consult customer service if the problem persists.
Interchange 2 phases in the mains plug (to be done by qualified electrician).
+ Check that the mains voltage corresponds with the voltage specified on
the rating plate.
+ Check for proper connection of the phases in the connector (qualified
electrician only).
Consult customer service if the problem persists.
+ Check whether the machine is properly connected to the compressed air
system.
+ Check that pressure of pneumatic system is not below minimum machine
operating pressure value (see Sec. 8).
+ At filter unit, set pressure of pneumatic system of machine to value
recommended by manufacturer.
+ Make sure the grippers are in proper working order and replace if worn.
Consult customer service if the problem persists.
+ Check whether the machine is properly connected to the compressed air
system.
+ Check that pressure of pneumatic system is not below minimum machine
operating pressure value (see Sec. 8).
+ At filter unit, set pressure of pneumatic system of machine to value
recommended by manufacturer.
+ Completely deflate the tire before unseating.
+ Check whether the compressed air hoses are connected correctly.
+ Interchange the hose connections on the pressure gage.
Remedy
