General Safety Standards

INTRODUCTION:
The person, who is in charge of operating and maintaining the machine must be prepared and trained
by the employer and be informed on the risks derived from improper usage of the machine and wear
the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPEs).
Carefully verify the machine before starting to operate it.
Nogueira cannot foresse all possible risky situations that may constitute a source of potential danger.
The warnings stated in this manual and displayed on the machine refer to the correct operation of the
machine and adherence to the prescribed safety standards.
The adhesive labels on the machine supply a number of important recommendations: respecting
these labels will safeguard the operator.
Verify if all the safety labels are quite legible. Clean them whenever necessary, and replace them with
new labels when they are illegible.
Before operating the machine, verify if all the safety devices are mounted correctly and in good
condition; in cases of deflects or damage in these shields, replace them immediately.
Before getting off the tractor and before perfoming any maintenance procedures, engage the parking
brake (if present), turn off the motor, and remove the key from the ignition.
The operating and maintenance manual must always be in an accessible location to all personnel
responsible for the machine, so that it can be consulted whenever necessary.
If the manual is lost or destroyed, request a copy from Nogueira. The machine was designed to be
operated by a single operator.
The operator must not operate the machine in case he is not feeling well, sick, tired, drunk, or after
using strong medications or illicit drugs.
The operator should not wear clothing of accessories (jewelry) which can get trapped. It is extremely
important to wear PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment).
While operating the machine, there may be dust released from dry ingredients, such as: hay, straw etc.
We recommend wearing an anti-dust mask or a mask with a filter to protect the operator`s respiratory
tract.
While operating the machine, the operator must see well enough in operating zones which are
considered as hazardous. The machine must not be left unattended while hitched to the tractor and the
keys are inserted in the ignition.
Keep the machine always clean and remove all foreign bodies (scraps, tools, and objects in general)
which can damage the operation or cause injuries to the operator.
Park the machine on a flat and solid surface, and verify if the machine is immobilized and stable.
If the machine is parked on a sloped surface, place shims to lock the wheels.
Verify the condition of the hydraulic tubing. If it is are worn out, replace them.
Do not lever controls of hoses for support, as such components are moveable and flexible and do not
provide any stable support.
Any eventual modifications performed on the machine can affect its safety and the person operating it.
In this case, the user is completely liable for any eventual accidents.
Only approved wagons can travel on public roads, so without this approval, it is possible to travel on the
property of the customer/ company.
Routinely check the tire pressure and abide by the inflation pressure based on the operation and the
respective type of terrain.
