Verifying the Wear Status of the Treaded Blades

NOTE: In order to achieve good cutting quality with the least absorption of power, the blades
must be adjusted to a maximum distance of 2 mm from the counter-blades (fig.1). Dull
blades or blades which are two far away from the counter-blade exert more strain on the
tractor (consequently increasing the fuel consumption) as well as an improper fuel mixture
(cause longer cutting time, shredded product etc).

Replacing or Adjusting the Thread Blades

Before beginning any operation with the thread blades, it is necessary to disengage the tractor
driveshaft.
NOTE: When changing the blades, you should begin by disassembling the worn ones,
beginning at the black of the bin, and then reassemble them with new blades, also
beginning at the back of the bin.
This operation requires great care. Two people are recommended for doing this job, one inside the bin
and the other outside, helping to hand the first person the blades and the screws.
It is extremely important to wear personal protective equipment when performing this operation, such
as protective clothing, footwear, and cut resistant gloves.
IMPORTANT: The rotation of the thread blade can only be done manually by the
person outside of the bin and using the appropriate tool (2 fig.1).
1) Turn off the machine, remove the store the keys in the proper place.
2) Remove the driveshaft from the power take-off (1 fig.1).
3) Turn item 2 fig.1.
