61. If desired, install the optional cervical
traction bar on the support top-side of
the head-end H-bracket as follows:
r.
Determine the hole location for
the cervical traction bar.
NOTE:
The hole locations are numbered on the side of the H-brackets.
s.
Put the bar into the H-bracket openings. Make sure that the bar is
level by verifying that each end of the bar is installed into the H-
bracket at the same numbered hole location.
t.
Make sure the drop lock on each end of the bar moves to the side
to hold the bar in position.
u.
Pull the traction rope from the bowtie down and underneath the
bar.
NOTE:
The bar has an indentation to help keep the rope in position during
cervical traction.
WARNING:
The maximum weight load for the traction assembly is 22.6 kg (50 lbs).
To exceed this weight could cause patient fall, injury, or equipment
damage.
WARNING:
Make sure the traction weight is in a safe position, free from possible
unintended movement. Failure to do so could cause patient fall, injury,
or equipment damage.
WARNING:
Do not press the cervical traction release button while traction weight is
being applied. To do so could cause the assembly to retract and the
traction weight to move. Patient fall, injury, or equipment damage
could occur.
62. Use traction weight per facility protocols. Make sure that—
•
The traction weight is in a safe position such that it is free from
possible unintended movement.
•
The traction rope stays in the indented section of the cervical
traction bar.
