• The grease supplied in the kit must be put in
the internal groove both of the hub and of the
bush
(Fig.
44). The seizure of the bush and
the variator collapse will be occurred If this
direction is not followed.
• Insert the hub into the movable half-pulley,
taking care not to damage the oil-seal rings.
• A plastic bush is supplied in the kit, which is
used to insert the hub into the pulley without
damaging the oil-seal
(Fig.
45). After the hub
is inserted into the bush check that there is
no grease leakage and, if necessary, carefully
remove the grease from the parts around.
• Insert the rollers in their seats.
• Use the original roller guide cover and the
original cursors. If they are excessively worn or
damaged, replace them with original cursors.
• ATTENTION: the introduction of the variator
cover inside the pulley will be lightly forced
where there is contact with the rolls. This is
intentional and it makes extremely silent the
engine at low rpm.
• Clean carefully and remove the grease from the
movable half-pulley using a suitable solvent.
• Please check that the edges of the original roller
cover do not have burrs (and in case remove
them), since they can cause an early wear of the
(Fig. 46)
rollers.
