Software installation

6.1 Installing system software EPS 9�5

Minimum requirements for system software for
injector testing: Version ≥3.34.
i
Installation of the system software is described
in the program description EP-Software (order
number: 1 689 989 099) in chapter 3.3 "Installation
of KMA system software EPS945".
6.2

Updating firmware

i
The firmware update is described in the Online
Help of the EPS945 software.
Each time it is started the KMA system software
EPS945 automatically checks the firmware version
on the EP test system. If an out-of-date version of the
firmware is detected on the EP test system, then a sta-
tus display window containing the following message
will appear:
Firmware version KMA802 out of date
-or-
Firmware version DZE800 out of date
-or-
Firmware version CRE800 out of date

In this case the firmware in question should be
updated.

Installing CD-TestData

1. End all applications on the KMA-PC.
2. Insert the CD-TestData 1 68 370 270 in the
CD/DVD drive. A few seconds after insertion, the
dialog window "Select set-up languages" appears.
3. Select a language (e.g. "German" for Germany).
4. Confirm selection with <OK>.
 The start screen appears.
5. Heed the information on the start screen and press
<Continue> to proceed with installation.
 The selection menu for the databases appears.
6. Select the database to be installed on the KMA-PC.
The "CommonRail database" must be selected for
checking CRI piezo injectors.
7. Press <Continue> to proceed with installation.
8. Heed the information in the dialog window and press
<Installation> to continue with installation.
 Database installation is started. Following instal-
lation, a dialog window appears.
9. End installation with <Complete>.

This completes database installation.

Software configuration

1. Call up EPS945-PE/VE/CR system software.
 Software initializes the connected devices.
2. In the "Main menu" dialog box select the <F7> softkey.
3. Enter password: 1958 and confirm with <F12>.
4. In the "Configuration" dialog box, select the menu
option "Components" sub menu option "Devices"
and call up with <F12>.
5. In the "Devices" dialog box select the "CRI�00 injec-
tor actuation" field with u.
6. Call up list box with E.
7. In the list box select the "On" option and accept
with E.
8. Accept with <F12>.
9. Exit "Configuration" dialog box with Esc.
 Software initializes the connected devices.

In the "main menu" dialog box the status indicator for
the common-rail injector control is displayed.
