Before Calibrating the Barometer
● Before calibrating the Barometer, you must have the
absolute pressure of your current position because
the value will be input into the Station during the
adjustment.
● Consult the nearest observatory station to get the
barometric pressure of your surroundings.
IMPORTANT: Inputting an incorrect pressure value
during the calibration procedure may result in an
inaccurate pressure reading in the future.
How to Adjust the Barometer by Using Absolute
Pressure Adjustment
● Hold [M] for about 2 seconds in the Barometer
Mode to switch to the adjustment display .
● When pressure reading is flashing, press [S/S] or
[R] to change the value (Hold the button to change
the value at a higher speed).
● Press [M] to restore to the default value during
adjustment.
● When the setting is completed, press [A/B] to
confirm the setting and exit the adjustment display.
● If no key is pressed for 1 min, it will return to normal
operation automatically.
Precautions for using the Compass
● Keep your Station away from magnets or any appliances
which may contain magnetic objects such as mobile
phones, speakers, motors and etc.
● The Station, like most magnetic compass, points to the
magnetic north which is slightly different from the true
north. Check the 'What is Magnetic Declination' section
for more details.
● Perform the compass calibration from time to time to
ensure the precision of the compass.
● To achieve an accurate result, you should avoid
measuring direction on the following conditions:
1) The station is placed close to the magnetic objects,
2) The Station is placed close to the metal objects,
3) The Station is placed close to the electrical appliances
4) The Station is placed inside a moving object or a
ferroconcrete building.
