Positioning the patient
NOTE:
In most cases, the X-ray exposure is performed on a standing patient. In
special cases, you may also position a seated patient (using e.g. a dentist
stool). At the same time, no parts may be located in the beam path due to the
dentist stool. Nor may any unit movements be obstructed.
Preparations
Ask the patient to take off all metallic objects such as glasses and
jewelry in the head and neck area as well as all removable dental
prostheses.
For patients with metallic implants, bridges and fillings, image quality can
be affected.
The movements of the unit must not be obstructed by physical constitution
nor clothing, dressings, wheelchairs or hospital beds! Perform a test cyle
with the T key.
Open the swivel arm of the unit completely.
Adjust the height of the unit roughly to the patient's height using the "up"
and "down" keys on the control panel.
Open the bands of the forehead support fully.
Press the R key to move the unit back to the entry position.
NOTE:
When the R key is pressed, the unit begins moving only if the swivel arm is
located in one of the two end positions.
Attach the statutory radiation protection equipment to the patient. Help
the patient enter the unit moving backwards.
If the rotary ring was accidentally displaced while positioning the patient,
the unit can be returned to the entry position by pressing the R key once
again.
ATTENTION:
The height adjustment motor starts slowly and then increases its speed.
Press and hold down the height adjustment key until the unit has reached the
desired height.
