4.3.9 Testing the NE monitoring symmetry (NE double-
faced)
– Prepare the testing equipment test box symmetry / resistance.
– Using an adapter cable, connect the NE cable to connections no. 1 and 5 on the symmetry /
resistance test box.
– Connect the active electrode monopolar handpiece 205300 43 with adapter cable 205300 45 to
connection no. 2 on the symmetry / resistance test box.
– Proceed as follows to set the operating mode:
Standard Coag
Power: 10 W
Effect: 1
– Use the handpiece to activate Standard Coag for approx. 10 sec. The device will be activated with no
alarm messages.
– Deactivate the handpiece.
– Connect the active electrode monopolar handpiece 205300 43 with adapter cable to connection no. 3
on the symmetry / resistance test box.
– Use the handpiece to activate Standard Coag for approx. 10 sec.
No more than 5 ec. after it is activated the alarm message "A-B0: Bad NE symmetry" should appear.
The message is displayed on the screen against a turquoise background. The device must not
interrupt the activation process.
– Deactivate the handpiece.
– Connect the active electrode monopolar handpiece 205300 43 with adapter cable to connection no. 4
on the symmetry / resistance test box.
– Use the handpiece to activate Standard Coag for approx. 10 sec.
No more than 5 sec. after it is activated the alarm message "A-B0: Bad NE symmetry" should appear.
The message is displayed on the screen against a turquoise background. The device must not
interrupt the activation process.
After no more than 2 seconds the alarm message "A-1F: Critical NE symmetry" will appear. The
message is displayed on the screen against a red background. A "high priority level" acoustic signal
will be sounded continuously until the alarm condition has been resolved. The device must be
deactivated.
– Deactivate the handpiece.
– Leave the device switched on.
