remove the Adjustment Disc and check the
pressure level as described in Points 1 and 2.

proGAV Checkmate
The proGAV Checkmate is supplied sterile and
can be re-sterilised. The proGAV Checkmate
can be used to change and check the pres-
sure level before and during valve implantation
directly on the proGAV 2.0. To determine the
pressure level, the proGAV Checkmate is cen-
tred over the proGAV 2.0. The proGAV Check-
mate automatically aligns itself over the valve.
The pressure level can be read from the direc-
tion of the proximal catheter (leading towards
the valve). If the pressure level is to be adjusted,
the proGAV Checkmate is centred over the pro-
GAV 2.0. When doing so, the required pressure
level must point towards the proximal catheter
(leading towards the valve). By slightly press-
ing the proGAV Checkmate onto the valve, the
rotor brake in the proGAV 2.0 is released and
the pressure level is set.

3.04.06 CLEANING RECOMMENDATION
FOR NON-STERILISABLE proGAV 2.0
Tools
NOTE
proGAV 2.0 Tools are made from thermolabile
components that are sensitive to heat and
moisture as well as chemically reactive. Do
not immerse the proGAV 2.0 Tools in clean-
ing solutions or allow liquids to enter the
housing, as moisture, corrosion and impuri-
ties could impair proper functioning.
Surface contamination on the proGAV 2.0 Tools
should always be removed immediately after
use by wiping with alcohol-based cleaning
agents (minimum 75% alcohol).
The exposure time should be at least 60 sec-
onds and should be adapted to the degree of
contamination. The instruments should then be
wiped with a dry cloth.
The following cleaning methods are not suit-
able for processing the proGAV 2.0 Tools
(except the proGAV Checkmate): irradiation,
ultrasound, sterilisation, mechanical process-
ing, immersion in cleaning fluids.

3.04.07 CLEANING AND DISINFECTING

THE proGAV Checkmate
Avoid damaging the product due to unsuit-
able cleaning agents/disinfectants and/or
too high temperatures!
Use
cleaning
approved for surgical steels in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions.
Observe specifications regarding concen-
tration, temperature and contact time.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted
cleaning temperature of 55°C.
Perform ultrasonic cleaning:
as an effective mechanical support for
manual cleaning/disinfection
for precleaning products with dried
residues prior to mechanical clean-
ing/disinfection
as integral mechanical support during
mechanical cleaning/disinfection
for the subsequent cleaning of prod-
ucts with residues still present after
mechanical cleaning/disinfection
