Tensioning the rewind spring
:
Make a loop in the unwound starter
rope and use it to turn the rope rotor
six full revolutions in the direction of
the arrow.
:
Hold the rope rotor tight, pull out the
twisted rope and untangle it.
:
Release the rope rotor.
:
Slowly let go of the starter rope so
that it is wound up on the rope rotor.
The starter handle must be drawn firmly
into the rope guide bush. If it tips
sideways: increase the spring tension by
another turn.
TS 510, TS 760
:
It must be possible to turn the rope
rotor on another half-turn when the
rope has been drawn out
completely. If this is not possible,
the spring has been tensioned too
tightly and may break. Remove
one turn of the rope from the rotor.
:
Refit the fan housing.
Replacing a broken rewind spring
:
Remove the rope rotor as described
for "Replacing the starter rope".
:
Remove the spring housing and
spring parts.
:
Fit a new spring housing with the
bottom upwards and guide the outer
spring loop round the lug.
:
Refit the rope rotor.
:
Tension the rewind spring.
:
Refit the fan housing and screw it
into place.
If the spring has popped out of the
spring housing:
:
Replace it, working anticlockwise
from the outside inwards.

:
Unscrew the hexagon bolts (1)
(approx. one turn) and relax the
V-belt by turning the segment
anticlockwise.
Then
:
remove the collar nuts (2) and
screws (3).
:
Pull the cast arm off the studs
together with the V-belt.
:
Unscrew the hexagon bolts from the
bearing completely and remove the
bearing with guard.
