Zero offset adjustment: The calibration of a
power sensor works exactly like the 'tare' on a scale:
it records the value read by the sensors when no
force is applied. However, this value can vary based
on different factors such as pedal tightening torque,
temperature, and torque of the chainring bolts
(even the tightening order!). When comparing two
power sensors, small differences in this 'zero' point
in opposite directions will result in a divergence in
power measurement that can be more than twice
the precision of either sensor. Divergence due to
calibration errors is more significant at low power
and becomes smaller (in percentage terms) at
higher power.
In real-world conditions, it is not uncommon to
observe variances of +/-2.5% between 'reliable'
power sensors from reputable brands.
SOFTWARE UPDATE
The LOOK team regularly updates the firmware of
the pedals to ensure you have the best possible
experience. Updating your pedals allows you to
benefit from the latest performance and usability
enhancements, as well as bug fixes. Updates are
available through the LOOK app, which connects to
For all these reasons, we recommend training with
the same type of power sensor and, if possible,
the same device. This is how you will obtain the
most consistent data over time, and it is one of the
reasons why we have focused on developing power
meter pedals that can be easily transferred from one
bike to another.
your pedals via Bluetooth. When connected, the app
will notify you if a new firmware version is available
for your pedals.
MAINTENANCE OF LOOK POWER PEDALS
Regular maintenance of your pedals is crucial for
your safety and to ensure optimal product lifespan.
Poorly maintained pedals can exhibit defects,
malfunctions, and even break, leading to a loss of
control during use, serious injuries, or even death.
Before each ride, check that the pedals and cleats
are clean and functioning correctly. Replace cleats
if necessary, as worn cleats may unexpectedly
release from the pedal, causing a fall. Only replace
your cleats with LOOK cleats.
Do not immerse your pedals and avoid exposing
them to high-pressure cleaning. Clean your pedals
