art_01 cassette awning installation instructions
Important safety information for the installation
1.14. Unsupervised operation
! When working in the extension area of the awning, the au-
tomatic control must be turned off. There is a risk of crushing or
falling.
In addition, ensure that the unit cannot be unintentionally man-
ually operated. For this purpose, the power is to be cut, e.g.
take out the fuse or disconnect the plug coupling on the motor.
When operating manually, the crank must also be unhooked
and stored safely.
If the awning is used by several users, a priority locking system
(controlled external electricity turn-off switch) must be used,
which makes the retraction and extension of the awning impos-
sible.
1.15. Trial run
! The first time the system is extended, no one is permitted in
the awning's extension area or underneath it. A visual check
must be made of the fasteners and brackets after the unit has
been extended for the first time.
For trial runs, never use automatic controls or switches from
which the operator has no view of the awning (there is a risk
of it starting to move unintentionally). The use of a test cable to
connect the motor is recommended.
The installation and adjustment instructions included with the
awning from the manufacturers of the motor, switch and control
must be followed.
The unit must not be extended without using the supplied se-
curing screws.
1.16. Crushing and shearing areas
! There are crushing and shearing areas between the drop
bar and tube/cassette or covers, and in the area of the joint
arms as well as the profiles that meet. Limbs and clothing can
potentially get caught up or pulled in by the unit!
If the awning is being fitted at a height of less than 2.5 metres
above accessible thoroughfares, it may only be operated by use
of a push-button switch within sight of the moving parts. Electri-
cal controls, radio drives with lock switches, lock switches, etc.,
are not permissible in this case.
The push-button switch must be fitted within sight of the drop
bar but away from the moving parts. Ideally it should be fitted
at a height of 1.3 metres (national regulations relating to the
disabled must be observed).

1.17. Installation and removal
! It is dangerous to stand underneath the awning whilst it is
being installed and removed, and only those people actually
doing the installation and removal work may do so.
When mounting the awning in the brackets, take care not
to crush or damage the connection cable.
!
If damage is caused or spotted, have it repaired by a
professional. If an awning needs to be repaired, retract it and do
not use it in the meantime. Only use spare parts authorised by
the manufacturer.
! To avoid injuries, adjustments must be made to the end po-
sitions in line with the local conditions.
! The relevant statutory requirements must be followed in
areas open to the public.
1.18. Handover
! All operating instructions, as well as the installation and ad-
justment instructions issued by the motor, switch and control
manufacturers, must be handed over to the user with appropri-
ate training. The safety information and information on use relat-
ing to the awning must be explained in full. Failure to follow the
instructions or any incorrect operation can cause accidents and
damage to the awning.
All instructions are to be kept by the customer for future refer-
ence and must be passed on to the new owner if the awning is
sold.
Based on knowledge of the particular conditions at the site and
the finished installation, the installation company will tell the
user whether the wind resistance class specified by the manu-
facturer has been achieved in the installed condition. If not, the
installation company must document the wind resistance class
actually achieved.
Recommendation:
If you are the installer, have the awning's correct installation and
set-up, the time of installation and details of the acceptance
meeting, including that you explained the safety information,
confirmed in writing.
