If you turn knobs A clockwise, the bit moves closer to the
D
board, as shown in the diagram (28-1, Fig. 28.1).
F
If you turn knobs A counterclockwise, the bit moves away to
E
the board, as shown in the diagram (28-2, Fig. 28.1).
Once set to the values in the table, if the edge trimming is
not to your complete satisfaction, you may make small read-
justments, using the same method.
G
To prevent errors due to the normal play of the knobs, when
B
setting a measurement, for example, 0030, you must pass this
number and reach 0040, and then back to 0030.
This same consideration applies to the rest of the machine's
digital counters.

5.6.2 Trimmer copy control
B
To adjust the position of copiers C (Fig. 28.2) for certain bits,
you must set digital copy position counters E (Fig. 28.2) to the
values shown in column "E" of the table (Fig. 28.1) for these
bits, keeping in mind the following instructions:
• Use knobs D (Fig. 28.2) to bring the bit closer or move it
farther away from the board surface, positioning it at the
value shown in the table.
• By turning knobs D (Fig. 28.2) clockwise, the bits will cut
more material, as shown in the diagram (28-3, Fig. 28.1).
• By turning knobs D (Fig. 28.2) counterclockwise, the bits
will cut less material, as shown in the diagram (28-4, Fig.
28.1).
Once set to the values in the table, if the trimming is not
to your complete satisfaction, you may make small read-
justments, using the same method.
5.6.3 Top feeder/trimming unit position compensator
E
The position of top trimming unit G (Fig. 28.2) with respect
D
to the feeder comes factory set and normally requires no new
adjustment.
To edgeband very pliable or soft boards where the top copier
might mark their surface, you have the option of raising the
top part of the profiling machine with respect to the feeder,
reducing the copier pressure on the board without affecting
the bit setting. To do this, turn knob F (Fig. 28.2) clockwise.
You may also use this adjustment to reset the relative posi-
C
tion between the feeder and the top profiling machine, if for
any reason they have become poorly adjusted.
