5.4 Fastening the socket adapter

The connection to the distal prosthetic components is established by a sock
et adapter. A spacer plate is positioned on the snap bushings in the distal
end of the socket when mounting the socket adapter. To ensure forces are
transferred to the Dynamic Vacuum System, the spacer plate must not lie
against the laminate.
Required tools and materials:
>
710D4 torque wrench, 636K13 Loctite®, spacer plate, 501S128=M6x22
or 501S128=M6x25 countersunk head screws
1) Set the spacer plate onto the prosthetic socket (see fig. 33).
2) If the pyramid receiver or the pyramid adapter is rotatable: Place
the pressure plate on the adapter.
3) Apply the adapter to the prosthetic socket (see fig. 34).
4) Optional: Align the pyramid receiver or the pyramid adapter.
5) NOTICE! Only use the screws specified here.
Select suitable countersunk head screws.
Fixed pyramid adapter/pyramid receiver: 501S128=M6x22
Swivelling pyramid adapter/pyramid receiver: 501S128=M6x25
6) Secure the screws with Loctite®.
7) Screw in the 2 posterior countersunk head screws and tighten them
(torque value: 12 Nm).
8) Screw in the 2 anterior countersunk head screws and tighten them
(torque value: 12 Nm).
6 Use
CAUTION
Using the product without a sealing sleeve
Risk of injury due to unexpected loosening of the connection
► Always use the product with a sealing sleeve so that a vacuum can be
generated.

6.1 Donning the prosthesis

1) Apply the liner to the residual limb so that the distal end is aligned with
the longitudinal axis of the residual limb. Unroll the liner onto the residual
limb so that it has no wrinkles, without shifting the soft tissue.
2) Slide into the prosthetic socket with the liner. The magnets in the piston
of the Dynamic Vacuum System connect to the metallic counter-piece in
the liner.
3) Unroll the sealing sleeve over the prosthetic socket onto the thigh.
