D. THE HELMET
Tip:
When fitting the headband, we recommend starting at the back
of the visor cut-out, then lining the sides and front.
Caution:
Never ride with parts of the interior lining removed.
Caution:
Excessive heat (e.g. exhaust heat) can cause damage to the
interior lining!
Note:
To avoid damage to the interior lining and inner shell, do not
hang the helmet over the mirrors or handlebar grip.

13. VENTILATION SYSTEMS

Vent i l at i on devi ce 1 – vi sor set t i ng
The J1 has a visor that can be adjusted to several positions.
Depending on your road speed and misting tendency of the visor, open
the visor sufficiently wide to stop it misting up but so that it still
protects your eyes from excessive draft. Even the stiffer first locking
position will significantly increase the flow of air in the face area,
because this creates an additional gap at the top of the visor through
which the air inside the helmet can escape.
Ventilation device 2 – head ventilation
To ventilate the surface of the head, a generously dimensioned air
intake cap is located on the top of the helmet shell. Air entering via this
air intake cap is directed through ducts to the top of the head. Inside
the helmet, the innovative padding system (consisting of headband and
cushioning pads) enables incoming air to come into direct contact with
the surface of the head, so that heat and
moisture is more quickly picked up and
carried away from the interior through the
outlet ducts at the back of the helmet.
The air intake cap simultaneously acts as
operating slide for the head ventilation.
Open the vent by sliding the air intake cap
backwards. The vent is closed when the air
intake cap is in the forward position.
Individual adjustment of ventilation
The ventilation can also be adapted to the seasons by repositioning the
head pads fixed in place with Velcro. While it may be desirable to have
the air current flow directly onto and cool your head in warm
