Important safety information

Do not touch device if immersed in liquid.
Do not touch device and discontinue use if enclosure is broken.
Never install electrical wiring during an electrical storm.
Never install an Ethernet connection in wet locations unless that connector is specifically designed for wet
locations.
Use caution when installing or modifying lines.
Use a screwdriver and other tools with insulated handles.
Wear safety glasses or goggles.
Do not place Ethernet wiring or connections in any conduit, outlet or junction box containing electrical wiring.
As a best practice, mount the device server on a wall or place it on a tabletop away from high traffic areas. Keep
cables out of reach and off the floor.
Do not place power cable in walkways or anywhere it may receive heavy wear or be crushed, or where it may be a
trip hazard.
Only use screws included in the packaging.
Do not connect, remove, or modify protectors or grounding wires; you must have a qualified service provider
perform these tasks.
Do not touch uninsulated Ethernet wiring if lightning is likely.
External wiring: Any external communications wiring installed must be constructed to all relevant electrical codes.
In the United States, follow the National Electrical Code, Article 800. Contact a licensed electrician for details.

Position the Connect WS so that the power connector and power switch face up. Do not position the Connect WS
within 15 centimeters (6 inches) of the equipment above it. Position the device so that it is easy to remove and re-
insert the power mains cable and the Ethernet cable.
Do not use a multiple socket-outlet or an extension cord to connect this device.
Device provides a maximum of 1.5 KV of isolation power protection for Power over Ethernet. Installer must ensure
connected devices provide additional isolation if required.
The serial ports of the Connect WS shall only be connected to 60601 Class IIa or IIb or 60950 equipment.
If using the Connect WS in a ME environment, connect only device items that have been specified as part of the ME
system or specified as being compatible with the ME system.
Do not use near any device that emits electromagnetic waves, such as large motors or electrosurgical equipment,
or the data may be corrupted.
Reciprocal interference may be caused during specific investigations or treatments. Do not use this equipment
during diagnosis or treatment unless you have verified that no reciprocal interference is caused.
Do not rely on this equipment as part of an alarm or alert system.
Disconnect all devices from the device server before using diagnostic mode.

In case of smoke disconnect device and discontinue use. To safely terminate operation of the Connect
WS, disconnect the power cable and the Ethernet cable.
