Using the Connect WS
Powering the device on and off
To power on the device:
1 Connect a C7 power cord to the mains power connector/power input (1) on the Digi Connect WS terminal server or
you can connect an Ethernet cable (3) to a PoE-enabled Ethernet switch.
2 Turn on the power switch (2). The Power LED (2) illuminates.
To power off the device:
1 Turn off the power switch (2). The Power LED (2) is no longer illuminated.
2 Disconnect the power cord from the mains power connector (1) and disconnect the Ethernet cable from the
Ethernet port (3).

Before cleaning or moving the device, turn off the power and disconnect the device from the mains power
connector and the Ethernet cable.
Note
The Connect WS also supports 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE). You can use both mains power and PoE at
the same time. No additional configuration is required to enable PoE on the device.

To disconnect the Connect WS from power, you must remove both the mains power cord and the
Ethernet cable.
