The LEDS will illuminate as booting occurs, then shut off as the unit finishes booting. The Find ME LED blinks amber
initially, signifying that the device is attempting to complete the start-up boot process. After the boot process is
complete, the Find ME LED shuts off, and you can now configure the device through a web user interface (UI).
Wi-Fi is disabled by default, so first-time configuration of the Connect WS terminal server must be done via an
Ethernet connection. You can make subsequent configurations or modifications to the device through the web UI.
This can either be done via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, once Wi-Fi capabilities have been enabled.

Cleaning and inspection

Periodically inspect power cable and replace power cable in case it shows wear.
Clean device regularly.
Do not sterilize the device server. (To clean: gently wipe the case with a mild detergent or 70% isopropyl alcohol.)
Disconnect the mains power cord and the Ethernet cable from the Connect WS before cleaning the Connect WS or
inspecting the power cord or other cables for wear.
CAUTION!
Do not use the device server to activate, deactivate, control, or adjust any medical device.
Do not use data from the device server for diagnosis without validating the integrity of the entire information
collection system.

Connect WS connectivity options

Initial configuration of the Connect WS terminal server is done via Ethernet. The device must be powered on, and
connected to a local area network (LAN) through the use of a desktop or laptop that is equipped with an Ethernet
port. Once you have connected the device via an Ethernet connection, the Digi Device Discovery Utility, or your own
tool can be used to discover your device on your local area network. Once the initial setup and configuration is
complete, you can make subsequent configurations or modifications to the Connect WS terminal server via:
1 Ethernet
2 Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi capabilities must be enabled through the device's web UI)
Obtaining and working with the Device Discovery Tool will be discussed in later sections of this manual.

Connect WS configuration

To configure your device, you must know how to access the device's web interface. You can access the web UI by
entering the device's IP address (the IP address is obtained via DHCP), into the URL address bar of your browser. If
user and password authentication are not enabled, your browser will automatically redirect to your device's

Do not connect the Ethernet cable into a serial port. Damage may occur to the serial pins, causing
malfunction of the device.
Clean and inspect the device periodically:
Verify correct operation before each use and periodically thereafter.
This device contains no user serviceable parts. No modification of this equipment is allowed. The
manufacturer cannot take responsibility for any damage caused by opening the device.
