Do not route cables over moveable
parts! Do not fix cables to the steering
column!
Ensure that the cables are not exposed to
tensile, compressive or shearing forces!
Where cables are routed through holes,
protect them with rubber grommets!
Use only suitable connectors for new ca-
ble connections.
For connection to the vehicle's electrical
system, use crimp connectors or other
connection methods complying with ac-
cepted technical practice!
To make crimp connections, use only cr-

Avoid short-circuiting of the vehicle's
electrical system. Short-circuits can
cause cable ignition, battery explosi-
on and damage to electronic equip-
ment.
Short-circuits can be caused by faulty
connections, squeezed cables and incor-
rectly connected cables. Electrical con-
nections must therefore be made only in
accordance with the vehicle manufactur-
er's electrical circuit diagrams!
Use only appropriate multimeters or di-
ode test lamps. The use of conventional
test lamps can result in damage to control
units or other electronic systems.
