6. Now, click or touch Create Pick List in AUTO (circled
in Figure 47).

shown in Figure 48.

This list can be printed and used to pick lumber in the yard.
8. Most of the material required on this example list
(Number 8 on Figure 48) is 2x4 SP #1 and SP #2
in 14 and 20 foot length. In this case it would be
advantageous to store one bunk of each grade of
lumber at the saw. Other sizes and grades required
for the job should be picked before cutting is
started. The pick list not only shows the required
lumber, but also the order in which it is required.
CAUTION
!
It is very important that this order be maintained in the picked
lumber as no pieces requiring high grade lumber will ever be
placed on lower grade lumber.
When the job used in this example is cut, the 20 ft. 2x4
SP SS boards will be cut first as they are first on the
pick list. The saw computer will continue to ask for this
size and grade lumber until all 13 boards are cut into
the required truss components. At this point the saw
computer will ask for the next grade and size lumber
listed on the pick list which has been sorted from
highest to lowest grade lumber.

Additional Options:

The options defined below can be found on Figure 31 in
Dimensions-Quantities (Section 3.5.3). They are listed to
increase familiarity with their purpose. Please heed the
caution statement below before changing the default
values.

The following options are used in troubleshooting situations.
They should only be changed from their default values per
instruction from Alpine Equipment Customer Service.
• Quick Camber Adj. – Adjustment input for
components where the camber is known
• Non-Optimize Look Ahead – Refer to section
3.8.5
• Max Pieces Per Stock – Limits the number of
pieces placed on each board
• Trailing Dbl. Cut Spacing – Spacing between
pieces following double cut trailing end
• L1 Grip Distance – Distance from L1 to blade
• Minimum Transfer Length – Minimum length to
transfer control from L1 to L2
• Minimum 4+ Cut Piece – Shortest 4 cut piece
length
• No Ejection Max Length – Length that will drop
onto waste conveyor
• Backfeed Eject Max Length – Maximum Length
of piece that will be sent to small piece conveyor
instead of the waste conveyor
• Return Waste Length – Minimum length of pieces
to be sent to the waste conveyor
The waste shift options listed below are used for troubleshooting
and should only be adjusted with the assistance of Alpine
Equipment Customer Service.
• Waste Shift Length – Length (in decimal feet)
to transfer to front of stock piece when making
squaring cut on the board
